Agents and Permissions

Your agents work through your Dexter Account. You choose which clients can connect and which payments they may make. Money, purchases, and any borrowing remain with the account when you stop using an agent.

Open Agents in Dexter Wallet to manage connected clients, the wallet's agent-payment setting, and approved Tabs.

Connect an Agent

Choose Connect an agent, select the client you use, and follow its setup instructions. Connect Your Agent includes the client selector and install actions.

If your terminal displays a connection code, choose Enter a connection code in Wallet. Enter that code, check the requesting client's name, and choose Connect with passkey. Match the code to the terminal where you started the connection.

Return to Agents after approval. The client appears under Connected agents. A connection lets that client use the account; paid actions also depend on its approved permissions and the wallet's spending setting.

Inspect or Disconnect a Client

Under Connected agents, choose an agent or View to see when it connected and when it was last used. Not used yet means the connection has no recorded use.

To remove access, open that agent's details, choose Disconnect, and confirm with your passkey. The connection disappears from the list and stops working. Choose Keep connected if you want to cancel before approval.

Disconnecting one client leaves your other connections available. To use it again, repeat that client's connection flow.

Control Agent Payments

Agent spending controls payments across this Wallet. Switch Allow agent payments off and approve with your passkey to block agent payments. Switch it on when you want to allow them again. Agents still need the spending authority you approve for their work.

When shown, Agent allowance is the wallet's monthly allowance. Each Tab has its own cap and expiry too.

If the setting says Unavailable, choose Check again to refresh it. Needs activation means you must activate the Wallet before enabling agent payments.

Review and Revoke a Tab

Open Tabs lists active spending arrangements. Each shows the amount spent, its cap, and the expiry. A Tab allows repeated purchases from one seller within the terms you approved.

To stop further use, choose Revoke tab on the relevant Tab, review the confirmation, then choose Revoke tab again and approve with your passkey. It leaves the open list after the change is confirmed. Cancel keeps the Tab open.

Revoking a Tab stops its future use. Payments already authorized can still require settlement, and completed purchases stay in Activity. The Tabs guide explains the cap and expiry; Assets and Activity shows how to check individual payments.

If a connection or Tab list cannot refresh, use its Try again control. Confirm the updated state before relying on a disconnect or revocation.

For a first paid task, follow Buy a Service.
